Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Upgrading Starts with Roads - Road Network Development Project funded by the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD)

The commuters dream on smooth traffic flow with reduced cost and time of travelling would be the reality with the completion of this project.  The project funded by the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) has chosen MGC along with Engineering Consultants (Pvt) Ltd (ECL), the implementation partner

The primary objective of the Road Network Development Project is to upgrade nine selected Class A and B roads of 138.39 km length of the National Highway Network of Sri Lanka complying with the national standard for the class of road and for the right of way boundaries.  The project expect to improve and strengthen the selected road sections aiming at smooth traffic flow and reduced cost and time of travelling and to cut across the districts of Matale, Kandy, Trincomalee, Kegalle, Gampaha and Kurunegala

The upgrading of roads emphasise on elevation of road formation above the periodic flooding levels, clearing and improving side drains and outlets, replacing and improving the hydraulic capacity of cross drainage culverts.  The road upgrading includes strengthening of the carriageway, reconstruction or improvement of pavement, widening or reconstruction of bridges and provision of road signs and signals, in ensuring the safety of motorists and pedestrians

The project implemented by the Road Development Authority (RDA) commenced in 2013 and will complete in August 2015.  MGC and Engineering Consultants (Pvt) Ltd maintain a Joint Venture (JV) partnership, for the implementation contribution.  The JV has deployed domestic experts to meet the project objectives and hold responsible for pre-construction review of designs, contract administration, quality control and construction supervision of the project
